Bio:
Siming Yu is a graduate student in the Department of Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research areas include gender and sexualities, men and masculinities, inequality, queer, and (im)migration. By employing in-depth interviews with Chinese gay men, his current project examines how they use “sissy” discourse to challenge and/or reproduce patriarchy and gender and sexual inequality in the Chinese context
