Bio:
My current research focuses on the labor process in app-based ride-share and its relationship to driver and passenger demographics. In general, I'm drawn to the subject of U.S. institutional development, and the ways in which the pursuit of material and other group interests has shifted social hierarchies and community identities over time. Economic relationships are a particular interest, as is organized labor history and its evolving linkage with partisan politics. Narratives of race, gender, immigration status, and other facets of social status are entwined with all of these explorations -- which frequently take the form of longitudinal, quantitative analyses.
