The colloquium will examine approaches to teaching theory that allow for a critical interrogation and expansion of the canon. The panelists will discuss whether and how to teach the current classical theory canon, how to situate this canon in the colonial context, how to rethink the canon by incorporating traditionally marginalized voices, and how to place the canon in conversation with contemporary scholarship.
